Back to Reality

Galešnjak, Croatia

So it's been 4 days since I arrived home from Croatia and to be honest I'm already thinking about what I could do when I return.  It is very rare that I have the desire to go back to the same location twice…after all, there's so much to see around the world…but Croatia could be one of those exceptions.  So much history, lovely people, stunning scenery and endless opportunities to explore…by land or sea.

what a journey!

People have asked me since my return what I liked about Croatia, so here are a few things that come to mind:
  • endless twisting and turning cliffside roads with magnificent views
  • lovely people who welcome you so openly and want to hear and share their stories
  • the unique creations made by so many talented Croatian artisans
  • visiting the local markets to pick up fresh fruit, vegetables and honey
  • magnificent architecture
  • the history
  • wandering throughout the little alleyways and streets
  • kava and lattes Croatian style
  • exploring Plitvice National Park in the rain or shine
  • relaxing at little caffees/bars (smoke free of course!)
  • Komiza, Komiza, Komiza
  • delicious wine, olive oil, grappa and carob brandy
  • ICE CREAM!!!!
The list could go on I'm sure and next time someone asks me "why would you go to Croatia?",  I'll be sure to let them know.  If you haven't visited Croatia yet, you are definitely missing out…a must see on anyone's travel list.

For Lisa, my tolerant travel companion, she's certainly captured my thoughts when she said she would have flashbacks for a while to come (good ones of course) - surprises around every corner, nook, cranny, alley, etc.

Croatia did not disappoint, rain or shine…and my 1500+ pictures can tell the story.

Until next time…hope you enjoyed sharing in our adventure.
